IntroductionThe Senior Officer: Content Development Services is responsible for creating, managing and overseeing content in the organisation’s primary communication platforms in line with the marketing and communications strategy. This position ensures that the organisation’s narrative and messages are in support of the organisation’s strategic objectives and present the voice and tone of the Services SETA.

SpecificationContent strategy development
• Develop a content strategy, writing style and tone for all communications to ensure consistency
• Develop a message plan and content calendar for multi-channels `
• Coordinate workshops to promote collaboration with relevant stakeholders and partners
• Champion best practices and drive continuous process improvement in content development to ensure quality deliverables and efficiencies

Content creation and management
• Define and implement workflows, tools and systems for content production
• Research, Write and edit content for multi-channel platforms for print and digital platforms
• Develop, implement and manage an archiving system for Services SETA content e.g. speeches, videos, publications, media releases, articles, pictures and key presentations
• Provide technical writing and editing services for all departmental reports as and when required
• Manage and ensure quality of all written collaterals developed by the Services SETA’s departments
• Provide copywriting and proof-reading services of all communication materials in order to project a professional image of the organisation while ensuring consistency in tone and writing style (in line with the Services SETA’s brand personality)
• Update content and ensure accuracy of information on various communication platforms
Requirements• Matric + 2 Year qualification in Journalism, Communication, or related field.
• Five years’ experience in Journalism, Publishing or related field. Experience in editing or sub-editing will be advantageous
• Must have excellent written and business communication skills.
• A language proficiency (reading and writing) in English as well as knowledge about the public service is required to enable the incumbent to execute his/her functions
• Knowledge of project management is essential to ensure on-time delivery
